Keyfob / DVD

does anyone know which is the best DVD player with the best fit as well for the 2012 370z? i would like the backup cam installed and all
also does anyone know where and how i can get automatic started on my Z. the thing is... i don't want an extra remote, i would like to add it to my OEM keyfob. i KNOW its possible bc i seen an altima coupe like that before.
thanx for the help in advance

Any double din will fit with the Metra kit... there is no factory integrated remote start.

Nismo221 03-22-2012 12:06 AM

I have seen some Viper Alarm Systems with electric starts that work from your smart phone.... but have not seen a mod for the OEM fob on a 370z

theboydiddy 03-22-2012 12:07 AM

i seen a nissan keyfob with it. you had to press lock and unlock at the same time and it start up the car. i swear i seen it at the nissan dealership...oh well.
you guys have an idea which DVD player would be the best ?

theboydiddy 03-22-2012 12:09 AM

yeah i seen that viper app too... I'm continue to look into it.
I'm ask nissan directly. lets see whats going to happen

Nismo221 03-22-2012 12:11 AM

Yeah the Viper app is nice. It will even send you an alert to your cell phone when your car alarm is set off!

theboydiddy 03-22-2012 12:20 AM

niceee. I'm look into that as well.

I just installed a pioneer 4400, it's pretty pimp, got pics just don't know how to up load them on this iPad?

BigNate 03-22-2012 08:47 AM

There is a way to add-on remote start to your factory remote. It will be wired in with your door locks and set up so that after you press lock three times the car will start. This will however had no security features or anything else simply remote start. Only weird thing to remember when having this done is that that the range isnt anywhere near as good as aftermarket remotes and it will also work from any of the door lock switches in the car.

zakimak 03-22-2012 09:02 AM

Auto start would work with a DB-All module.

I don't think you can upload photos from an iPhone nor an iPad. I haven't figure that out yet. But I YouTube videos and a lot people say the kenwood DDX719 is the best one out as of now. GPS, iPod controls, Bluetooth, input for backup cam and etc. I like the look of it but i am not sure if it really is the best one out.

theboydiddy 03-22-2012 09:11 AM

Wow. No security? That's no good. Not for me. I'm from new York. You most certainly need security here lol

i take that back you can do security with factory add-on remote start all controlled from factory remote but make sure you installer is competent because it will be a fairly complicated install

bigaudiofanat 03-22-2012 10:23 AM

If your in NY I would look for a head unit with a removable face plate. Not many out there but one is from JVC, I would look into that also kenwood and alpine get my votes.

Usually with remote starts that use stock key-less entry units. You have to do a special combo in order for the aftermarket system to realize that you want to start the car. They are much harder to setup than just using a aftermarket fob.

It is sad that even with getting a whole aftermarket system you still need to carry around the stock fob so the car knows when you get in.

Just get one of the smart start systems, most good brands of remote starters are now compatible with it. then you just use your phone to start the car.
Viper, autostart, astro start, ...all have it.

bigaudiofanat 03-22-2012 10:35 AM

Good point 90, the only complaint I have with them is you have to pay a monthly service fee to use your phone with the car.

If you're not using tapatalk, you should be :) when you go to post something, and your keyboard pops up, click on the bar right above your keyboard that says "open advanced options" then go to photo album, pick the photo you want to upload, choose hosted by this forum, original size, close advanced options, and then send. you're good to go, it will show up like the pic below.

So currently are there any alarm systems (not necessarily remote start systems) that allow you to not have to have the oem keyfob on you to get in the car? I hate carrying a million bulky items on my key ring, and I hate having to pull my keys out to unlock my doors. Are there any systems I can just walk up to the car with only the alarm keyfob and open my door with the door button? Basically the same function as my stock keyfob but using the alarm one?

I really like the kenwood look. I might just go with that one.
Thank you all for your help. I sincerely appreciate it.

bigaudiofanat 03-22-2012 11:01 AM

Most alarms systems will integrate into your factory lock/unlock system thus allowing you to use your factory remote. Add remote start to that and it is a whole different ball game.

BigNate 03-22-2012 12:01 PM

as long as the correct interface module is combined with a compatible alarm system you will be able to control the aftermarket alarm with the factory remote. There is no alarm that will allow you to not need the factory keyfob to drive the car. Adding remote start to an alarm being controlled through the factory remote is not that difficult but whoever is doing it needs to have a very good understanding of security installation

Kenwood DNX-9990HD

theboydiddy 03-22-2012 03:19 PM

Wow. Seriously. It doesn't get much clear than that !!!
And that kenwood is looking sick on the Z. I just might go with that 1. I really like it.
I don't know but the Z with A/T looks weird to me. . . I wouldn't get it like that

BigNate 03-22-2012 09:16 PM

For the record even with the use of an xk09 or dball or FLCAN or adsalca you will still need the factory key fob to drive the car and adding remote start to the factory key fob is not detailed in the manuals for either module but it is possible.
