Popping sound with Ipod - Pioneer Headunit

I just recently installed a avh-p3300bt... I am pretty sure the issue is with the ipod eq or my encoding but when listening to my ipod on my iphone 4 I occasionally hear a small quick pop... it is faint and I didn't pick up on it at first. It isn't rythmic, it is random and the odd part is I don't hear it on the Pandora app or any other input functions (XM, radio, DVD). I would assume it is my iphone EQ settings or my encoding. Anyone have any similiar issues?

I bought the good cable from Pioneer thinking that it might just be a weak Apple sync cable but I still get the noise. It isn't bad at all, I just wonder if there is a fix.

I know if my phone is to close to my AUX cable you get a popping or interference from it.

Well my phone has to be close because it is hooked to the cable... are you saying too close to the head unit itself?

No to the cable, I understand what you are saying, i was giving an example of how I get interference.

OK yeah outside of turning the phone off and just using the ipod (which I could always try) that kind of leaves me stuck I guess. Oh well.
