I need a good amp for my system

Hey guys I am very confused when it comes to selecting a capable amplifier for my system. I have the base 370z with the sport package and currently sporting a kenwood ddx-419 HU with polk db6501 component speakers. It sounds great but I would like to improve a bit on it by amping the 6.5 polk woofers and perhaps adding a small subwoofer to the spare tire enclosure. I was looking at the kenwood kfc-xw1000 because of its shallow mount size and specs. What amplifier would serve me well for these speakers and subwoofers? I am guessing a 4 channel and was looking at Alpine's PDX-F4, Kenwood's X600F and even JL audio's XD400/4. They are all CEA-2006 compliant and tested at the same voltage (14.4v) but I'm not sure if they are a good match as far as power for my speakers, and frequency and noise distortion. I need some input on these or any other you guys might recomend. I am looking for clarity in sound not the ultimate loudness and I definetly do not want my entire car rattling. Also if you have a better sub in mind by all means say it.
Thanks in advance

depending on your budget i would look at the Rockford P400-4 or even a 500-4 and a R2SD2-10 sub, or 12"

Alpine PDX 5 if you want a all in one package.

It also depends on the budget. What model polks are you running?

I've always liked JL subs for their SQ. Have you looked into the zenclosures.com boxes?
Nice choice of HU - I'm getting the exact one next week for my Z. Only $349 shipped

You should look at Memphis Audio, they are the leaders in professional audio for cars and competition.

I am running the polks db6501. Budget is not an issue but I do not want to buy something that's not neccessary

If you are running them off a head unit they should be ok, if you were running a higher end model then I would worry about amping them.

If you still want to get a amp for the the JL is overkill and expensive to boot. I would use a boston acoustic amp or bump up to the polk mm and go with the alpine.

Which boston acoustic amp?I was looking at the GTA 704. Should I amp the polks db6501 as well as the 10" sub? I would rather not get the polks MM, I know they are great but I overall happy with the db6501 and the MMs would be overkill I think

i'm the rep for both the BA and RF lines, and would go with an RF amp over the BA. The RF is more money, but so worth it.

It also depends on the woofer. I am looking at the stealth box and JL 13" woofer. That woofer is a power hungry beast as well is the majority of the shallow/slim woofers. I am going to buy the JL 900HD. It is a 5 channel and will run the whole system.

Actually that P400-4 is not that expensive. It could be had for anywhere between $200-$300 online

Question: Why do we need 5 channels if we are only running 2 speakers and a subwoofer? Wouldn't a 4 channel be ok?

Front seperates = 2 ch
Rear speakers = 2 ch
woofer = 1 ch

I like the surround factor.

Another amp to consider is the PPI Phantom P900.4. Makes nice power and can be had for around $200 online. I picked up one recently from Sonic Electronix. I haven't installed it yet, but it looks like a really well-built amp sitting on my desk at home...haha. Good luck.

I see. I have a base model so no rear speakers for me. I'll stick to a 4 channel, 2 for the speakers and 2 for the sub
