Ipod Touch wont display on the Nav screen

Just got delivery of my slightly used 2011 370ZR - loving every single minute of the drive.

I live in Dubai so it is GCC configured with full options!!

The other day I got an apple original AV Composite Cable - connected to my JB Apple Ipod Touch - i was expecting the ipod interface to display on the NAV screen - but nothing shows up - only Display setting (wide, full screen, Etc).

I can hear the sound - its crystal clear but I have to navigate through the ipod itself! really irritating and distracting?

I heard that the Bose Nav System only recognized the V2.0 of the IOS, is this the case or am I doing something wrong!!!???

thanks for the help again

My Ipod touch displays on the screen. It even shows the album cover on the nav screen.

First, make sure you have one of the new cords. The old Ipod cords will transmit data (as far as I know) but will not charge your touch.

I will check tonight and see what IOS version mine has.

Why are you using a composite cable...? You should be using the Nissan ipod data cable I believe.

A composite cable won't likely allow the ipod to be controlled by the headunit... you'll just get audio out.

I have used my jail broken iPhone via the composite cable hookup. You need the Cidia tvtuner out app. The graphics are okay but not very sharp. I have not seen any output to the nav screen via the data cable. Some hacks exist to allow these things but they are hard wired.

Thanks guys.... I don't have the USB connection so the composite cable is my only option.... Any other possible reason apart from the iOS version?

the GCC spec and US spec have some differences especially when it comes to plugging in the ipod and stuff.

Sorry to say, but you have to use the USB cable to be even remotely close to using the controls on the radio to control your iTouch.

iPods don't output the device interface over the composite cable. Just audio and video playback.
