install speakers

I bought some Pioneer speakers for my 2010 370z and was wondering if anyone knew which wire on the factory connector was positive and which was the negative. I used a test light to which was the positive but nothing. Your help is greatly appreciated.

neasiest way to double check on any car is to get a 9 volt battery with a couple leads on it and touch the connectors on the stock speaker, once you disconnect it from the car. If the speaker moves out it's connected the right way and that would be the positive terminal, if it goes in then it's backwards. once you know which one is positive look at the plug and your done.

Thanks I'll try and do that.

I would highly recommend to take the time and run new speaker wires, less of a chance encountering a factory crossover or other things.

If you still want to continue and use the stock wire this may help you, the only reason I do not know what they are is i have always ran new wires.

Just bumping this... did you ever get an answer?
What happens if you cross them?

If you cross them your speakers phase will be reversed. Simple and easiest way is to run new wires because you still have to run at least two of them, one to the new tweeter or woofer and one going into the crossover.
