Thank you for the pictures. I was curious about what the subs look like but I was not curious enough to pull them out.

Great stuff. Thanks

Anyway i find the subwoofer that need to 'rest' on the spare tyre is a stupid design,actually i want to remove the spare tyre[to reduce weight],but cannot do so,maybe Nissan can make a option,that is a plastic stand to hold the subwoofers,which owners don't wants a spare tyre in his boot.

So does it look like maybe some better bose subs could be purchased a put in there to maybe get a better thump?

No problem, always happy to contribute when and if I can. And thanks for the props on the Avatar. I photoshopped that so my step dad could airbrush it on my helmet. As soon as it's done I'll post up some better pictures.

In regards to the subs, I was very disappointed to see what was really in there. I mean they aren't even 6.5 inches.

Wow! Thanks for posting this info and picture.. That finally clears the air of wondering where the two subs were.. So on the non-touring model, do they still have this round subwoofer enclosure, with a single sub?

Lastly, I wonder if there's a speaker maker that has better ones in that size to replace those with and just add a small amp at the trunk area to power them. Would sound a lot better I bet.. Car needs a hint more bass..

in for upgrade options!

Thanks I was going to do that today now I don't have to. Is they a integrated amp inside the box? do you think it could handle external amp power or would the speakers just crumble? I think the sound is pretty good just needs a little more umph!

That's a hefty heatsink. I need to look ours over and see whether they have accommodated proper ventilation for the heat they anticipated.

Informative = rep point! :tup:

Hmm wonder what Jeff thinks about this? Anyone with ideas on a setup upgrade?

I have to say, that shows how pitifully weak Bose is. I'd think you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who would call these "subwoofers" at all. They're woofers, like it says on the label, and not very big ones at that. I wonder if they put two speakers instead of one in just so they could say "dual subs".

Thanks for checking these out though - it's great to have the mystery solved...

Oh wow that's pretty cool. Maybe you can fit some Tang Band subs with long excursion and a compact digital amp.

fly yellow 05-23-2009 05:23 PM

Wow that is pretty lame. How difficult would it be to switch out all of the speakers, add amps, and do an nice built in sub, but keep the Bose with navigation head unit. Would it make a huge difference in the sound?
