USB/iPhone Hookup

Hi All,

I have been doing some hardcore searching on this forum but I can't seem to find the answer to my question and with a picture.

I am looking into changing the HU in my car along with the speakers, etc., however, I have been doing some debating on which HU I would like to purchase. I really like the Kenwood Excelon KDC-995. The only issue I have is that the USB port for hooking up my iPhone is in the back of the head unit. How do I bring that cord to the front? Is the only way through the glove compartment? I really don't want to do that. How have you guys tackled this situation? A picture would be great if you have one!

Thanks!

Lot of guys have done it several differnet ways. Using the usb will give you the best sound though. the bluetooth just doesn't sound as good.

I totally agree that the best sound comes from the USB that's why I'm trying to figure a way to pull it to the front. I figured people have done many different things that's why I wanted to get some ideas from the forum. If anyone has any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.

I pulled it under the console and drilled a small hole for it to come out in the console compartment in a previous car.

i had mine installed in the storage bend above the head unit. with the door
closed it's completely out of site.

I ran mine through the glove box, my kenwood unit requires me to just plug my ipod in, and the ipod is controlled entirely through the deck.
