Power Socket Removal

Hi Guys,

Does anyone know how to remove the power socket (12v cigarette lighter socket) in the center console? Can it be done without removing the center console pocket? I need to remove the power socket to tap a wire for power...

Thanks,

Curtis

i dont think so, im 120% sure you have to at least raise the center console to access it from b-surface. :)

The way it is secured is from the back, pull your dash apart and remove the two screws holding it in place. Than the two behind the seats. Than you can raise it up

bit off topic, but can you tap into this wire for the remote on for a amp?

yep for triggering you can (just make sure you test the power that it's switched when iginition is on/off)

you should wire a new lead for the main power to your amp.

Yes I use the one on the passenger side for the rear camera.

You can remove it. I removed mine and put it by the shifter where the sport mode button normally is. I'm out of town, but when I get back I'll upload some pics of how to do it if I can find them.
