Need Help! In Dash Stereo Upgrade

I am currently having difficulties with my upgraded sound system. I have an 09 370z with the Nav system. I chose to keep the Nav instead of installing an aftermarket stereo, because I preferred the look of the Nav, but now I feel like my sound quality is suffering because of this.. My subs are not hitting nearly as hard as they should (on single bass hits), but on rolling bass (like most Dubstep songs) they perform just like they should. They seem to "build up" to the bass hit, instead of just going with the hit... It's kinda like bbbbbbOOM, bbbbbbOOM.... Instead of just BOOM BOOM... Get it??

My question is if there is a way to install another stereo while still keeping the stock Nav... I would give up most functionality, like bluetooth, voice navigation... Etc. I just want to be able to search for directions... The new stereo would be installed right under it.... I want to know if this setup is possible.

Or any other suggestions to fix the problem...

It's my understanding that you are stuck with the factory nav/head unit because it is integrated with many of the car's other functions. It is possible (with a fair amount of complexity) to add amps and upgrade the speakers for improved performance.

You have the factory Bose audio system correct?

You can not sadly take it out, you may want to upgrade your sound processor for a better signal like the JBL MS8. That can greatly help sound quality

Another alternative is to get a stealth hide away system like they use in muscle cars.Secretaudio SST

I HAD the Bose system, before I did the audio overhaul...

Where can I get this upgrade?

Which one? JBL MS8 you should be able to get done at a shop Make sure to ask if they have done ms8 installs and how many and on what cars. I have seen some say yes they could do them but had no idea on how to set them up.

The stealth system you can buy and install yourself they are pretty easy. Or you can get a shop to install it.

And are you sure both will be compatible with the car?

Fixed, and yes OP the JBL ms8 can be integrated into both oem factory systems and aftermarket ones.

The second option I provided bypasses the entire oe system all together giving you a brand new head unit to start with, if you are asking will the nav audio come through the Secret audio, it will not.

What gear are you getting to fix the problem?

Well not entirely sure... I'm going with some audio specialists to find out exactly what the problem is... If it's for sure my stereo or maybe the setup itself... We are going to look into everything.
