Thanks to whoever that recommended the $18 rear looking camera
I installed it today, very easy to put in, but hard to run the wires without cutting anything.

How's the clarity of the output though?

$18... damn, thats a killer price.
Where'd you get it? |

Originally that would be AK that recommended them. |

Mine came within two or three weeks. I just got the urge to put it together even though I have no TV/any means to view the video yet.

BTW, is that a ball mount? |
If you care to share the link, send me a PM please. My current rear camera went out.

What's the specs on it? How many lumens?
|
Please post up the info on this camera, it seems like there's big interest in it, and a few of us would like to maybe buy it too.

The camera has a simple two wire connection. The trailer hitch light is more difficult

If you have a US2010 or later you could use one of my plug and play harnesses Backup Camera Kit (Harness Only) - Car Kit Company and get the factory like performance with activation of reverse and gridlines that move with the steering wheel. |

The rear cameras (whether $18 or $150 kenwood) are just a video source. My question was about viewing and switch the camera on and was in response to: Quote:
The US2010/11 370z cars have the newer Nav system which has the software to support the reversing camera with the gridlines, but the cars don't have the required wiring. The harness that I created fixes that problem. Once installed you have somewhere to connect the rear camera and the result is a factory like system where there rear camera will automatically appear when engaging reverse and you will have the gridlines that move with the steering wheel. |
Your two choices are install a second monitor or devices monitor with multi video inputs in your cubby, or use the different video sources of a new head unit to add other devices.

Many people don't realize that you can get a factory type reverse camera setup with just a plug and play harness (and camera of your choice), because the Nav system in the 370z is shared with other Nissan and Infiniti cars that have the rears cameras as standard. Nissan just don't include the necessary wiring and the camera function is disabled in the hidden menus of the Nav system. I first made these harnesses available for the GT-R and was then approached by a 370z owner on this forum and of course it worked on the 370z too. PS: See you are in NJ also |
Yes I am i NJ as well PM so we do not clog up this thread.
