Rockford Fosgate Ultra small amps
I got my hands on one of these babies earlier today. They are SMALL the PBR300X1 is about the size of two smart phones side by side. Each one is one channel but ultra efficient at making its power using new Boosted Rail Technology. They hardly warm up and can power speakers or subs. They would easily fit into the foam piece in the trunk or make something custom. They require very little power to run. You can run them off a 12 gauge power wire if you choose but I would recommend a run of 8 gauge and run a distribution block.

Will let you know what I think of them. |
They will be the only ones with the technology, RF has a Patent Pending on it.
sub'd... seems like a good amp to run a 8 or 10
Hey Matt let me know how these turn out.
Found out something about these, they are made to only run subs they can not reproduce the frequencies that are need to run speakers.

The PBR300X4 (Which is the 75x4 version) is a full range amp which can run mids and highs just fine as it is more like a Class-AB amplifier.
They are sought after much like the Elf/Arc Mini amps in the motorcycling world. |

any update on how this little guy performs?
I did not use them in the install however I am using one in a sub install in a VW in a few weeks will let you know how it turns out.
I bet you this amp rocks it..
So would this amp be prone to over heating?

So the 300w would be for the subs and the 75w for the smaller speakers?
yes, but i believe the amp is not bridgeable so you would be losing 2 channels unless you have rear speakers
your right, the mono is for one channel and the 4 ch. can NOT be bridged or run at 2 ohms. however most Rockford Comp sets can be Bi-amped, so you can run a 4 ch on just the fronts, and use the whole amp. :)
