I just installed mine today and yes I bought a cheap ipod dock cable and it will do the ipod control. I'm having an issue playing any video through it

I'm having an issue playing any video through it at all, DVD/apps. I keep getting the warning prompt and I can hear the sound play but no video. I wired up a relay bypass but I'm not sure if it could be wired wrong and thats why I can't see any video.
