Kenwood DNX6980
My question: Is there some adapter I can plug in to my head unit's USB that will enable Bluetooth streaming audio from my phone? Any other ideas?
More info: I had a Kenwood DNX6980 installed in my 370Z (base+sport) on Saturday. It's pretty cool. The only thing I was pissed to find out is that the "built-in bluetooth" is ONLY for connecting the telephone part of your devices. Streaming audio isn't supported! How dumb is that.. even my old single-din Sony had BT audio. I did have a USB port installed in my cubby hole. Is there some adapter I can get that will imitate Bluetooth streaming audio from my phone? The head unit doesn't even have an Aux-in. I want to listen to my phone's podcasts. (Android .. Samsung Captivate) Nav and CMOS-300 backup camera are pretty cool, though. But for all the money I spent on this thing, I can't believe it doesn't do BT audio streaming. Any ideas? |
I just read the description on the amazon link and it says "The latest Parrot Bluetooth module is built into the DNX6980, and is capable stereo audio streaming".

You can try a USB / Bluetooth receiver such as Bluetooth USB Receiver Dongle replaces Dell DR985 NH366 | eBay
But I am not sure that will connect with bluetooth phone options at the same time. |
I have the DDX616, and this is bugging me as well. I think streaming bluetooth audio is A2DP, I don't have that on my headunit either. It's funny how a lot of single dins have this option... Let me know if you find a solution!
