Found used Z, Has Navi, But I want Aftermarket DoubleDin?
Hey everyone,
I'm currently shopping around for 370Zs and I found this one that has Navigation. My original goal was to go aftermarket, buying a Sport+Touring and adding my own double-din HU. Would this be a complication if the car comes with navigation? Or do you guys think if I can get a great deal on the car with Navi I should just stick to it? Thanks |
Stock navi is fantastic. If you get a good deal, go for it.

Stick with the OEM nav if you get a Z with one.

you can add on the the factory NAV, but to change it out is a PITA. but if you can get it cheap enough...
|
If you get the factory Nav, you really can't change the bose head unit by itself since they are integrated into one box. So if you want to keep the factory nav and have a separate head unit for audio, that's not going to happen. If you plan to do your own double din in the future, then don't bother getting the stock navigation.
Personally I like the look of the stock screen and the nav itself is fine for what it is. Integration with the bose audio plus other stuff with the car is good too. If you want better sound later on, you can always just change out the stock speakers and add a sub. |
I would do one of two things here. Hold off and find one with just a base system in. Or buy the base dash from nissan and install any aftermarket unit you want. just make sure to replace your speakers as well because the nav system uses bose. But you could use a adapter and use the new head unit with the bose system however i would not recommend it because of how bad it sounds.

Personally I prefer aftermarket systems. But from what I have seen the Nissian Nav unit is pretty good.
Nissan asks for like 2K for the nav option new, you can get alot of stuff for that money. |
