Subwoofer Opinions

Whats up you guys? I'm looking at the ZEnclosure sub boxes and I'm not too happy with the bass quality of the touring system. Surprisingly enough, my Si hit harder than this Bose system does, but does it even have a separate sub because my Civic did (that's where the obvious difference would come)?

I like rock and listen to it a lot more than rap, but I listen to the occasional rap music so I wanted something with a good hit. Plus, the bass drops in my rocks songs are lacking so I was hoping a simple 10-12 would fix it. I don't want to switch anything from the system/head unit. I want everything to remain stock, with just an added sub.

So, I guess my questions are 1) will that work and 2) do you think I will get what I'm looking for sound wise?

Thanks!

I have the base model so I am looking to upgrade the stereo myself. I don't think I am going to put in subs though, just change the headunit and stock speakers.I saw the Zenclosure site and options, nice. You will probably have to change the entire Bose system unit as it is designed to support the speakers it came with. I believe the touring comes with two subs and 8 speakers.

1. What was the power output in your SI versus the Bose system your Z now?

The Si was 360 watt with 7 speakers and 1 sub. Obviously, the enclosures were different since one is a hatch, so sound is simply different because of that. But, it wasn't a "brand name" system so I expected better out of Bose. I don't mind the speakers, the speakers sound fine. The head unit with the nav I'd keep no matter what because even though there is better performing stuff out there, when it comes to looking factory, you obviously can't touch it. That's why I was hoping I could simply get a 10 or something and have the factory settings run through the upgraded sub? I just need a little bump, nothing insane.

you can just add a sub to any system, take a look at a Audio Control LC2i, or a ReQ. Either one is a good option to help add that sub.
