Replace existing Nav display on 2009 370Z

I am curious to know if anyone already went through the process of replacing the existing Navigation display by a different model?

I recently purchased a 2009 370Z Touring w/ Sports & Nav but I hate the current display of the Nav and would like to replace it.

If anyone already did this, I would like to get some advice.

Thanks! Cheers!:leghump:

The resolution is crap and there is no USB connection. The Bluetooth function seems to have problems with the iPod as well. I just think that the entire system is outdated.

You mean go with aftermarket? I think a few have but can not confirm. You would need a aftermarekt metra or sch... dash kit the base dash kit and new speakers and a amp and sub as you will no longer be able to use your bose system unless you integrate the new unit into the bose which IMO would be a waste.

Yep, aftermarket. I was told by a audio technician that the speakers/sub and amp could remain in place. The only thing that he requires is the dash kit which he was not yet able to find for a 370Z with a factory Nav already installed. I imagine that a good audio technician can pretty much make anything happen...right?

I'll swap you my center console with an aftermarket nav for your OEM nav lol.

Bringing this back alive... did you ever get the stock headunit replaced with an aftermarket? I am in the same position as you with the lack of functionally and outdated features.

Hi AustynZ,

Replacing the Navi head unit with an aftermarket head unit is a reoccurring task on here that no one has been able to accomplish yet. Is it possible? Yeah of course it is, just a matter of making the right/correct connections, but that requires time, research, the right connection adapters to and from the car electronics, and then there is the matter of refitting mechanical climate controls that don't integrate with the head unit.
As I've said, no one has done it yet to my knowledge.

You need to replace the screen and the nav unit it's like $1,500 all together you can find it on eBay for around $1200, just search Nissan navigation DVD unit. A guy did it in his g37 so you could probably search and find the post. On g forums

From my understanding you can only run the 2010+ screen with a 2010+ unit like below. So far this route is the only way of upgrading the 09 nav
