rockford p300 amp install

i never installed an amp before. I have an idea but would appreciate some input.

This is what i think im suppose to do:

-I know when i hook up the up the amp i have to get power from the battery.
-Im going to run that through the gromet then to the kick panels to the amp. -Then i have to ground it im not really sure where to and exactly how to.
-Do i just screw it to a piece of metal on the car? i have the bose navigation with bose speakers.
-So i bought the MTX re-q, this i have no clue on how to hook it up. My guess is tap into rear speaker wires? i dont even realy know what that means.(my guess is add the connection to my rear speaker wire but cutting them then connecting them all together.)
-Then i have to connect the subwoofer to the amp.

If there is any input on this please feel free to add or help. If you guys think i shouldn't do it because i could mess up my car also let me know. People told me it was an easy install thats the only reason i might give it a shot. I installed my back up camera from the group buy with little knowledge of car audio and just advice from guys on the forum.

Equipment i have for install (If you could recommend any tools that would be great):

Rockford P300-1 amp
Kicker Wiring Kit
MTX re-Q
JL Audio 12w3v3-2 (will switch to a smaller 8" sub)
zenclosure subwoofer box
subwoofer speaker wire.

You are going to have to tap meaning cut the wires going to the sub and wire them to the input of your re-q than run power wire to the re-q than finally wire your amp and sub like normal. If you only have the base system and not bose you can tap into the wires coming out of your head unit that go to the speakers in your doors and use them as the input signal to the re-q.

If your asking the questions you are I would have someone with experience do it for you.

I have two friends that know how to put in amps and did it to their cars but they really dont want to work on a brand new car. Im porbably gunna have one of them help me out.

ok i saw some wire taps on crutchfield.

Posi-Products™ Wire Connector Kit 6 tap connectors for 12- to 18-gauge wires — tap into wires without cutting or stripping at Crutchfield.com

This should be good enough. right? I saw the shop tap into the speaker wires on my altima but they tapped into the rear. Your saying that i tap into the positive and negative for the subwoofer. I never really looked at subwoofer for the bose system i know its in a case in the spare would i have to open it up?

Also i dont understand how to get power to the mtx re-q. I understand it has a yellow 12volt constant and a red 12volt and a ground. The ground i could ground the same place i ground the amp. BUt do i connect the red 12 volt to the power wire coming back to the amp, and if so what do i do with the 12 volt constant?

Is there a specific place everyone uses to ground there wires in the z?
sorry for all the questions. Just really think i could do this but need some input.

thanks

Sounds like you might want to have a pro do the install for you, it's not that hard to do but wiring in the Re-Q if not done correctly could kill your bose amp or the Re-Q itself. Plus your playing with a fairly complicated vehicle like the Z, when in doubt bring the Pro out!

ok will take it to a pro then. thanks
