Base model speaker specs

I went to crutchfield but the car is too new. Anyone have specs on the front door specs and the tweeters in the dash. Need all info, size, ohms, imp,

Looking to still use stock base radio, no amp. Any recomendations?

Thanks

Front door speakers are 6-1/2" and you can go nearly 3" depth without problem. The door has spacers that the speakers will drop into.

The rear speakers are 4" not sure on the depth. Wouldnt even bother upgrading them.

Dont worry about the resistance, it wont matter. Just make sure they are efficient. Look at the focal polyglass line of speakers. They are insanely efficient at 94db!

focal polyglass line of speakers?

do you think the focal polyglass line of speakers, would work fine without an amp, just off the normal base stereo?

thanks

I put in focal polyglass 6.5 components and they sound great I think.

is focal's sound better then mtx ?

Focal speakers are among the very best you can buy and I wouldnt even consider mtx speakers next to the polyglass line. The focal comp sets are awesome!

Haha... I posted speaker sizes in numerous threads as I have recalled from a "leaked" service manual page.

Well at least you got a Base model. It's a good start. DIY section has details on what speakers were used. Even though I don't have the car yet, I already have 6.5" components for it months ago.

Here's a good thread on an install:

seems like the car only comes with what sub, and i have a picture of the car speaker layout. The people at the dealership seemed to have no idea about anything.

I was going to put the JL C5 650s in this it says that the depth is 2 and 9/16" does anyone know if i'll have any issues with that depth. Also, I was considering on buying baffles to protect my investment but i've read that they take away from the sound quality.

Also, does anyone out there think that there are better speakers for less money?

Thanks

To my previous post. I meant to ask will there be a clearance issue including the baffle. I know that I have 3" total.

Does anyone know what the depth is for the rear speakers? From the forums I have found that the size for the rear speaker is 4" according to this thread but in another someone put in 3.5". Thanks

IMO I love MTX co-axials and components!! I know Focal's are great but too many people give MTX a bad rep. Problem is that so many people buy their base line crap. Of course everyones baseline sucks. You gotta do your homework ya know.
