Put your Metra wiring knowledge to the test!

OK, so I cannot seem to get my ASWC to work. The series of LED blinks indicates that I do not have ANY of the wires connected correctly (7 short blinks). Here is how I have it wired. Can anyone please help?

Retry in manual setup.

Gmendez 11-24-2010 08:24 PM

I did. Won't work. The led won't go solid while holding the volume up button on the steering wheel. I just figured I must have it wired incorrectly. So you're saying I DID wire it correctly?

Is this a stock bose system you took out? Or base? Sounds like you did wire it right.

Gmendez 11-24-2010 09:37 PM

No Bose. NISMO

Not sure than maybe you taped into the wrong color wires and looked at the diagram the wrong way.

turbodog 12-06-2010 10:55 AM

I see on your diagram you have both the Metra wires labeled "Gray/Blue". The instruction I just read at their website (http://documents.victorytechnologies...icle/10973.pdf) says you should have Gray/Blue attached to car connector pin 16, and the Gray/RED attached to Pin 6. You might want to double check that.

Yep, thanks. I hadn't realized the typo. It is connected to the gray/RED wire.

Any luck getting it working? I hooked mine up yesterday, and it was telling my HU to go volume + continuously. I unplugged it until I can go thru the manual programming sequence.

I think it may be faulty. I have mine wired the exact same way. I can get the volume to work, but nothing else. When I do the test, it indicates that the red/gray isn't hooked up, per the flashes, but when I use my ammeter to test, I have continuity from the car side of the wiring harness to the box itself, so its definitely hooked up correctly.

I'm ok with just volume control though, I'm easy, and rarely shift channels or modes.

Gmendez 12-09-2010 10:25 AM

I have not tried it again (unfortunately, it requires me to pull the HU again - at least just forward a bit) to access the box. I'll try it again this weekend.

At this point, I am pretty sure it's connected properly, but I was not able to get any "long" flashes. l got seven short/quick ones. ---Dunno...

I have the same problem as Mike, only the volume controls work. :(

kenchan 12-09-2010 01:48 PM

damn, sorry to hear. i wasn't kidding to just use the pac until metra fixes that dumb module. ive had zero issues with install or programming on the PAC or the Peripheral.

turbodog 12-11-2010 05:18 PM

Ran thru the Metra manual programming today. Perfecto! Guys, if you haven't tried it, you should. Mine was acting really screwy, but the manual programming worked.

Are you like a CSE or ECE major? lol...
