Have you tried disconnecting the batt?

Osiris 11-21-2010 11:06 PM

no, will that actually do it? I know there are steps to reset it 'cause one of the other guys that installed the camera tripped the airbag light too and he reset it somehow. I just haven't been able to get a response back from him yet

what the hell give it a try?

Don't forget to do a window reset.

1. Push the ignition switch to the ON position.

2. Close the door.

3. Open the window completely by operating
the power window switch.

4. Pull the power window switch and hold it to
close the window, and then hold the switch
more than 3 seconds after the window is
closed completely.

5. Release the power window switch. Operate
the window by the automatic function to
confirm the initialization is complete.

6. Perform steps 2 through 5 above for other
windows.

Disconnecting the battery doesn't do it. I sent instructions in a PM.

It's actually in page 14 of the SRC.pdf file in the 2009 service manual. Here are the steps if you just want to reset the error without checking the code:

1. Turn the ignition from OFF to ON, you don't have to start the car for this. Just press the start button until it gets to the ON state, usually OFF > ACC > ON.
2. The airbag light should turn on, wait until it turns off (it should stay on for 7 secs and then turn off) and then turn the ignition to OFF within 1 second.
3. Wait more than 3 seconds after the ignition turns OFF.
4. Repeat steps 1 to 3, twice. (Total 3 times)

So total you're turning the ignition OFF to ON 3 times and then turn it on 1 more time. This time leave the car in the ON position until the light flashes, the car is now in diagnostic mode for the SRS system. Typically you'd now look in the service manual and count the flashes to see what error it was. I didn't bother and just cleared the error.

To clear the error simply turn the car to OFF again and wait more than a second. When you turn it ON again, the warning flashes should be gone.

From the service manual it looks like there's a specific error for if the Passenger airbag indicator light is malfunctioning. So basically don't turn on the car if you have that disconnected or else you'll have to reset it with these steps as even disconnecting the battery after that point doesn't clear it.

Thanks, srs reset helped

Hello,

This really Worked!

I just installed the oem footlights in my 2016 nismo.

I was proud on myself when all worked, knowing that the instructions where in Japanese and I could only follow the pictures..... I felt like an IKEA class for experts ;)

Great was my disappointment that the airbag lights started blinking when I reassembled the complete cockpit... feared I got to go to the dealership....

I browsed my trusted 370z forum and found this solution... and it helped.

Thanks a lot

Peter
