Bose Radio Display

Does anyone else have this problem? I have the Bose radio that come with the touring package. Most of the time, the display does not light. The backlight works when I turn on the headlights. This problem as gotten worse over the last couple months.

Have you tried to adjust the backlight? if it's been set already It may require a dealers visit?

Page 4-6 in the owners manual?

HOW TO USE BRIGHTNESS CON- TROL AND DISPLAY ON/OFF BUTTON
Push the “ OFF” button to switch the display brightness to the daytime mode or the nighttime mode, and to adjust the display brightness using the multi-function controller while the indicator is displayed at the bottom of the screen.
The display brightness can also be adjusted using the brightness UP button (+) or bright- ness DOWN button (−).
Push and hold the “ OFF” button for more than 2 seconds to turn the display off. Push the button again to turn the display on.

In the infinity's I have had a lot of people complain about this happening and they end up changing the head unit. Some replace with a new one but that one fails as well.

If you see the one in my install thread his was the same way. Bose unit stopped backlight he could not see anything, he replaced with a new one but did it again. Ended up putting a new aftermarket head unit in. Not say that is what you want to do I am just saying there is that, sub rattling, cds not ejecting, speaker and sub amps failing and other things that go wrong with the bose systems.

I took the car to the dealer today and the dealer said that there was a short in the radio and they are replacing under warranty.

I have this unit, but have not had this problem. I would suggest contacting the support department. Bose is good with taking care of their customers. They charge a premium price, but do a good job making sure everyone is happy.

He did take care of it and they fixed it wish is good. But bose taking care of their customers I have to disagree with especially car audio stuff.

What was the final outcome of this? Did it take awhile for them to get the parts?

I think my factory Bose unit is having this same problem. :shakes head: The other day I noticed it flickering and last night I couldn't read the display at all. Even after turning it on/off and tinkering with the display brightness. This morning It was back to normal??
