2011 Back-Up Camera Install - Dealer
with the 2011's, come's an OEM backup camera for the 370z, which should be compatible with the 2010 nav, and possibly the 2009. If so, i was hoping to start a thread in which some supporting nissan dealers could give us some info/pricing on purchasing the unit/parts for the 2011 backup camera and possibly some install quotes for those of us with factory Navigation looking to install the unit from the 2011 when it is released.

In for more info!
I really want a back up camera |
interested for 2009 nav add-on.
|
In for details on 2010 add on backup cam.

Does anyone have a picture or link to one of a 2010 Nav units connections in the rear? I checked the DIY and couldn't find one for a 2010, just 2009's. I need a clear shot showing the harness. I would be interested in what pins are occupied and by what color wires.
I'd do it myself, but I'm in the middle of a move and don't have the time or tools available to pull my dash apart. |

Or a manual link for the new NAV would work as well. I just need the pin diagram.

If anyone has pictures of the 2010 connectors (M93: 24-way connector on the screen and M202: 40 way on the AV unit) specifically showing which wires are present I would be interested. The question is whether connectors 7&8 on M93 and 22&42 on M202 are present. |

I know everyone wants this so here's some motivation for someone to pull their dash out and take some pics for me... :pics: Secret settings menu with camera controls. http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/f...-24-25_981.jpg Nav screen image(less) when in reverse. http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/f...-31-25_882.jpg |
how did you do that?!
|
That is very cool..... Means that the 2010 will probably NOT need a software update to operate the factory camera, just an install config.
|
I still want it. And that's cool with the nav. How do you get to the secret menu?
I hope it's not: ^v ^v <> <> BA |

Delro, how does one access that menu that you have shown in the picture?

First you have to get it to the "diagnostic mode". I read someone's post, sorry I don't remember who wrote it. To do so push the start button once to get turn the car on, but not the engine, dont press down on the clutch or brake depending on your trans. Then turn off the radio. Hold down the settings button and turn the volume knob a couple of times until something similar to "system self test" and "confirmation" comes up on the screen. Click on confirmation and scroll down to camera. Click on camera syst type and you should get to that menu. I just did it on my 2010, so I'm not sure if it's the same procedure for 2009's Hope that helps |

http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/f...-38-56_462.jpg Here are the camera adjustments.... http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/f...-39-11_885.jpg Once you make changes just turn your radio back on and the system will reboot with the new settings. If you turned the camera settings to on, then after you reboot and shift into reverse you will see this screen. http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/f...-24-07_333.jpg I'm currently working with someone who is assisting me in creating a harness to plug in without any mods to the current wiring. As soon as I test it I will get a DIY going and talk to the guy to see if he's interested in producing a few kits to make it easier on everyone. From the work I've seen it'll be as good as OEM with no additional drilling, wiring, or soldering. Just plug-n-play and quite possibly for 1/2 the $$$ from the factory. :excited: |
Thanks both of you
DeLRo, that would be really awesome if that piece works. keep us updated:excited: |

In for updates.

it looks like the solution is surely aftermarket, since based on what i've found out today, anything from nissan is going to be a while, if they even do release the OEM part for the 2011 it will be a while. updates in the other thread:

Looks like from the above options on the 2010 model all we need is the cable and the camera :excited:
|
I'd like to know how this works as well...would love to keep the factory screen looking as is but with the backup camera...
