What Size Front Components?

OK, lets assume you are running a sub, say one or two 10"s. What size front components would you get, looking for SQ?

I would possibly lean towards tweeters and 5.25"s over tweeters and 6.5"s. You have the subs for low base, so maybe you could cheat the mid base a hair to add a little more highs going with the 5.25"s.

Now if there were no sub, I would probably suggest 6.5"s.

What are your thoughts?

i would go 6.5" and tweeters and play with your cross over points with your EQ alittle bit. the 6.5 has lower F0 so more room for your to play vs 5.25.

I just took apart my 2010 370z to find 6x9's in the door and bought 6.5's

go figure:shakes head:

The hose system has 6x9' s the others have 6.5 that is what I would go with. Maybe instead of stick tweeter spots fiberglass them into the a pillars. Focal image dynamics and more if you want to go active. Personally I love id's

So should I just get an adapter for the 6.5 I have already.

I am not sure that z enclosure has the adapters for 6X9 to 6.5's. I could make you a set if you went me one of the 6X9's and than send you some rings. Or you can check your local shops just do not get sucked into anything they try to sell you.

I was looking around for some but did not find what I was looking for so I went to Lowe's and bought some lexan and fired up my Dremel they came out good but look funny b/c they are clear.:icon17:

HAHA I believe it, did you go to the show?

Baer383 09-25-2010 08:02 PM

Yeah,I went it was cool seeing all those Z's the dyno pull was cool I saw some guy pull 486 RWH man his turbos were screaming.
I didn't stay but an hour or two mainly b/c I use to have a killer 68 Camaro and did the car show thing for years so excitement wears off quick.

I'm sorry I didn't thank you for offering to make the spacers I was in the middle of modifying my Bose amp bracket for my Alpine pdx-5,

Hey Big on this re-q5 do I have to use every wire on this thing?
Last time I installed a stereo system we used line level converters.

bigaudiofanat 09-25-2010 08:15 PM

You should use them all the brown ones I believe the color is brown goes to the sub outputs to the bose sub and the others go to the wires of the bose speakers. Than your new speaker wire and all go form your new amp
