Have you tried the iPod cable with an iPhone? Does it charge it?

pcollatZman 03-21-2009 03:21 PM

I was interested in this unit, and they guy at the install shop told me that you cant change or operate navigation in while the car is moving, for example to cancel or enter a new adress on the road?

True or not true?

So I am looking to get one of these when my car comes in, but I am having trouble seeing the difference between the 700, 900, and 90. I see that the 900 and 90 are more expensive, but when I compare features on the pioneer site, they come up as having all of the same features...

Could someone help me out who knows the difference?

I believe the main difference is that the 900 plays DVDs while the 700 only supports CDs.

The 90 is the "Premier" version of the 900. The Premier has high voltage pre-outs and a longer warranty.

The differences between the 700 and the 900/90 are that the 900/90 plays DVDs and the 900/90 also has the MSN Direct tuner which gives you access to gas prices, movie times, weather, and traffic information.

as for the previous question about operating the avics while the car is moving...

that is true that certain operations are blocked out unless the parking break is set (ie the car is not moving). some of these features include entering a destination by address, watching video from DVD or iPod, and changing the main settings of the nav system. there is a way to bypass this but it is not as simple as grounding the parking break wire. check out AVIC411.com for more info.

White370z,

I work for a mobile electronics company and our technician said he was unable to hook up the PAC SWI-PS to the 370z because the wiring information from PAC was inaccurate. says the wire colors were different or something along those lines. can you confirm or deny this and if you confirm it, what was the solution?

when White 370z said he had to buy a radio he actualy had to buy a radio unit or a Sirius/xm Unit?

LQbano 04-06-2009 08:46 AM

On the site I see it only mentions European countries? I would think the get the US you have to flash and upgrade the unit correct?

I am also interested in knowing if it charges the iPhone 3G.

Kenwood Dnx6140 = $800+
Pioneer Rear view cam = $220
Installation = $200

i paid 1G flat though, the guys at the shop was cool with me and was "honored" to work with the z34 lol. they didnt charge me for the installation and dropped the prices for the headunit to 800 and the cam to 200 flat. it was really nice. they did a really good job.
