Do yourself and your car a favor get rid of the capacitor. If it is helping any it is just a band aid to bigger problems that you need to work on. If you need something like that to stop dimming you need to upgrade your ground points and or add a second small battery.
Other than that looks good. |
So Big you don't think that a cap will help with your sub? How about if you don't have any dimming issues? Is there nothing to gain from adding a cap? And will adding a cap make your system sound worst? Thanks!

Caps, were a big thing when they came out but all they do is take soem of the stain off the battery but it still have to charge up quickly for when the bass hits again so it is not really doing much of anything to help your electrical system. They help give the amp extra juice yes but they harm your electrical system because they suck juice quickly from your main battery and put strain on your alternator. Better not to have hem. Plenty of threads about this over at caraudio.com seriously plenty.
If you need something like this than you need to upgrade your grounding points "the big three" Ground wire from the battery to ground ground to engine block and there is another one I can not think of right now. Alo adding a small extra battery helps as well much more than any cap would. A lot of shops will try to sell you caps and promise you this and that about what they do. No reason to get them and z's stock electrical system is pretty good at taking a good power demand. |
The third is the alternator feed to the battery

Should be alright but I would just cut the wires off where it is wired to and run the power wire directly to the amp.
|
Remove the cap and wire directly to the amp. I would also ask for my hatch back!:bowrofl:
Seriously though there are much better mounting locations in the Z than where the amp is now, plus you won't have to give up your trunk. It would be a shame to put a big scratch in that pretty amp. Try behind the drivers seat if you don't want to spend a bunch on a fancy install. I would just get the amp out of there very heat score for a thief. |
