yes the subs seem to be fine as long as the gain is set real low. Okay so my gains for the left right and sub where all turned all the way up. the two lower pots the one on the left with the single digit number was set at half way and the right one was set in the middle between 70 and whatever the max is. i have the rca wires in the lower wires that are not labeled on the package it said the ones across from the gains were for something else and the rub outs where the ones on the bottom which is where i plugged mine. but they are not labeled left or right. the top ones where your saying to put them are. So you think thats my problem than? or could it be the gains i forgot to turn down for the Lt. Rt. and sub. i have it in my spare tire well so its super hard to try and adjust. If you have some setting recommendations im all ears.

I dug mine out so I could reference it. We are talking the Re-Q and not the Re-Q5 correct? Cause I have just the Re-Q.

Here is what I see 4 rca's two are labeled left and right which are odviously for the high pass and then the other two just say sub, which is a mono or single channel signal anyway so depending on your amp you connect both or just one rca there is no left and right on the sub channel for RCA's so it does not matter which is which.

For the settings the sub gain is for the sub output only the LF and RF are gains for the highpass which would be your front speakers if your were doing those.

The SS setting I have at just past the 15hz number and the LPF I have about 2oclock position which is around 80hz.

My guess is you have your sub gain too high and your LPF set too high sending over 80hz to the sub. Turn the sub gain back to between 1.2 and 2.5 and set your LPF at just a hair past 70. I found the higher the Re-Q gains the more feedback and noise I got.

Finished install, sounds great. Spare is intact, hatch area under floor carpeted for additional storage if needed. Current setup allows me the majority of the storage capabilities I had before if not more, and shows off the cool Hifonics amp glow.

Yeah I have the re-q not the re-q 5. I have a mono channel amp but it does have left and right RCA but if your saying the sub output does not have a left and right that should not be my problem. I will try setting it up with the numbers you gave me hopefully tomorrow and I will let you know how I make out. Thanks for the help. Oh and your set up looks good.

First off thanks to everyone who posts pics, questions, how-to, etc. It's been many years since I've done car audio, so I find this very helpful.

In the picture I am thinking of relocating the item circled. Looks like it's just a connector for the amp or TEL adapter. Anyone have knowledge to the contrary?

Do you know the proper Bose amp speaker input color codes for people using 5 channel amp to LOC? Can't figure out if the input signal coming from the stereo for the door speakers is full range or mid. Same with tweeter, just high level signal or full. 09 Touring W/nav.
