HU boots time? JVC KW-AVX926 Pioneer AVH-4250 Kenwood DDX-5034

Planning to replace my HU, but Audio shop keeper told me that some HUs take 10-20secs to boot. (He suggests to buy JVC, not Pionneer nor Kenwood)
he told me that I might have to sit and wait in order to use the reverse cam. I wonder if this is true...

Could you please tell me how much time does it need to turn the reserve cam on, if you following model(s):

JVC KW-AVX836 (KW-AVX830* in N.A.)
Pioneer AVH-4250 (AVH-4200* in N.A.)
Kenwood DDX-5034

*there only different is with/without multilingual - I think!

I do not recommend the JVC I installed two of these one in a saab and one in a civic. I did not like the quality of the screen and one had issues. Such as it would not let the screen close until it had a cd in. Called JVC they said that they could fix it if it was a problem for 90 bucks for a brand new head unit.

Anyway also for the reverse camera thing. All of them do not have to wait for the actual head unit to boot up for you to go into reverse. You can simply start the car put it in reverse and you will see the rear camera.

If I had the choice I would go with kenwood just love there interface and the garmin gps and parrot bluetooth.

what he said, there is no boot time for the reverse camera.

Tricky salesman... almost got fooled.
Thank you very much for your info!

You have to watch some of them. Oh and if you are getting a amp installed you do NOT need a capacitor or power reserve for it if he tried to say your head lights are going to dim. If they dim after a install you probably just need to get the big 3 done.

Big 3??? Sorry for being stupid. :hello:

Just google it its upgrading 3 main spots of your grounding and charging system. Not really needed unless your doing a BIG system like over 1500 watts rms.
