Recommend single din receiver
What's up guys? I've never really been that much of an audio junky so I'm not too informed on brands and quality. Basically looking for a single din receiver (don't need disc drive) that has rear aux and USB inputs and bluetooth. Would like to stick with quality brands like kenwood or alpine, unless somebody can recommend something better. Big, I'm looking for your input too man! Thanks guys!:tiphat:

I bought the non-bluetooth version of this deck and really like it so far.
Pioneer MVH-P8200BT Digital media receiver at Crutchfield.com or Pioneer USA - MVH-P8200BT - Multimedia AV Receiver with Built-in Bluetooth, 3'' Color Display, Built-in SD Memory Card Slot, and USB Direct Control for iPod/iPhone - Has 4 volt pre-out for F,R, and Sub. - A 8-band EQ or can you use a mic and use the AutoEQ func. - Hi and Lo Bypass filters. - Front USB for iPhone/iPod/Flash Drive and an SD slot. - Customizable color display - Video/Photo playback (MP3/WMA/AAC, DivX, JPG) - 3" color TFT display - Bluetooth integrated - HD/SAT. radio upgradable - built-in amplifier (14 watts RMS/50 peak x 4 channels) I matched it with the Metra Axxess ASWC Steering wheel adaptor: Axxess ASWC - Steering Wheel Control Adapters and Interfaces - Sonic Electronix So far I'm pretty happy with it. I can't comment on the BT since I didn't get this exact model, but everything else is pretty slick. The 5-way knob (Rotary Commander) is a cool idea, but the unit could use a few more quick access buttons. Other than that, I'm pretty happy with it. Hope this helps! |
I would recommend the alpine 9886 I use to have one before going with the bigger 9887. the only thing I do not like about my 9887 is no rear usb other than that I love mine.
If you want to go with a double din and not have all the bells and whistles like the kenwood has you can get the alpine iXA-W404. Pretty much any alpine you can not go wrong. Kenwood single dins I have not played with but heard good things. |

Yeah, they were kinda' low, hmmm... For some people the deal breaker was the rotary knob. The knob, in-of-itself, works fine, but they feel there needs to be a couple more quick menu/option buttons. I guess I can see their gripe, but I'm not bothered by the front USB interface or the rotary knob, but to each his own... I think it's easy for me to overlook the rotary knob when I get lots of other features that I want. Well, at least I helped you narrow down you're options! :tiphat: |

Thanks for the input guys, especially big. I decided Im going with the Alpine IDA-X305S. Kinda pricey but has everything I need and then some. Just need to wait until I get a couple more paychecks from this new job to feel stable. Such a sweet looking HU and its detachable too. Cant wait to show you guys my secret project Im working on!

All these threads end up the same way  |
That pioneer is pretty, but for that price it better give me a reach around. I'll stick with the Alpine. I don't need all that it offers, plus it needs an external amp. For that much money I could get a whole system. Thanks again everyone!
