I hope you guys are testing after each step of the process - you know, take the car out to a track and run it through all of its performance tests! Let me know if you need any help with that part, I could fly in for a small fee. :roflpuke2:

Well the sky is the limit so I would look at.

Audison amps or at least the LRX 5.1k

Hybrid audio components or Focal the polyglass are quite nice

Head unit you might want to go with a single din because you are going to have more control over your audio. I like the alpine 9887 but BUT if you can find the total package the alpine f1 series is so sick IMO.

You are going to get more clarity and control if you go active which means to control crossovers and all from the head unit and wire your speakers directly to the amp channels. The only thing is you will want a 9887 or similar because double dins can not do this. Also it can be a pita setting all that up so unless you are going to get real serious stick with passive crossovers.

Subs the Image dynamics Q is the best IMO I would go with a 12 in a z enclosure box.

If you want even more detailed recommendations pm me.

One other thing. All this will be completely useless unless your music is uncompressed which means not downloaded.

not to get of topic but why would a single din give you more control over audio instead of a double din. just wondering.......

bigaudiofanat 03-11-2011 08:41 PM

You can go active with a single din more powerful processor for that instead of a double din which can not go active. However we are not going active with this setup.

I know i'm a audio dummy because i don't know what your saying with going or not going active.

cookZmonster 03-12-2011 12:11 AM

I am sure Matt is referring to active vs. passive crossovers. Don't worry he had to explain it to me as well ;) I'm PRETTY sure the only "test driving" will be done by me also lol.

Well ok maybe once the alignment is perfect and the corner balancing has been completed I will let Matt and Mike give it a go, just have to see how amazing the sound system is first jk ;)

Any updates? I'm getting low on drool lately and want to make sure I'm stocked up for when the real results and pics arrive. :yum: :yum: :yum:

bigaudiofanat 04-07-2011 08:39 PM

Will have new pics up soon. Both of us have been busy.

cookZmonster 04-27-2011 11:14 PM

Things have been going really slowly lately, with updates far and few between. I am sure both Mike and Matt have good reasons for the delays, but every nice day that passes me by without my Z is making me want it more and more. I am sure they will update here when there is something to update.

LinPark 04-28-2011 09:12 AM

Hang in there dude - it will all be worth it once the final product is delivered!

cookZmonster 04-29-2011 12:52 AM

I am sure you are right, it's not their fault I bought the car in March of 2010, and have been waiting the vast majority of the time for performance enhancements to be done before I could even consider the audio.. anyway, I am still very excited about it :)

cookZmonster 05-22-2011 12:06 PM

Should have the car back Tuesday or Wednesday next week. I am excited to see what the guys have come up with :)

xohmx 05-26-2011 02:59 PM

That car looks amazing! Hope everything works out for you in the audio department.

In for updates also :-)
