Why do I see two different center consoles on Base model

I've notice that some Base models have the head unit embedded in the center console, which would require some serious customization to allow for aftermarket head units.

Then there are other Base models that have the traditional style center console where the head unit is not integrated. It can be easily replaced with an aftermarket one.

:confused: Does anyone have a clue as to what's going on and what's being offered? Perhaps the traditional style center console is only offered overseas. But then again, I've seen members' rides with it as well.

There are three (3) different center console stacks: 1. base stack, Bose stack, Bose stack with nav.

? You might be a little confused I see you have 60 posts but I would say that you maybe a little off by the packages that your seeing.

If you order base or base+sport you get the non-integrated radio

If you order touring you get the integrated radio regardless if you order the base touring model or + sport Touring gets Either way with bluetooth and other features

Then the nav is separate almost like a add-on to the bose that comes standard on the TOURING. Semtex if I recall has a touring+sport but no nav so you get the cubby just like you get with the base.

So basically its
Base 370z=Cubby and non-integrated

Base+sport=cubby and non-integrated

Touring=cubby and bose-integrated

Touring+sport=cubby and bose-integrated

Touring+Sport+NAV=7' inch screen with hard drive based navigation/music 9.3 gb box and Bose-integrated

Hope I helped :tiphat:

I sold one with the head unit not integrated as said,but if you look at the 370Z broschure the radio is integrated with the center console.I took the 370Z class and i was not told anything about it.

NP:tiphat: Well depends on the person I guess if you read up on the Factory Nav system then you will find out that alot of people prefer it over aftermarket because it is really good. Its the same that comes in the Infiniti G37 if you look at Magazine reviews for the G37 they say that the factory Nav is one of the best on the market better then what comes in the 335i. But we don't get the backup camera:shakes head:

But if your goin aftermarket it shouldnt be that bad cause it will be easier to take out and install your own.
