OEM Nav IPod Interface Question
So when i use my ipod interface, there are a couple of annoyances i have noticed, most of all, the fact that whenever i return to any artist/album menu, regardless of whether i was listening to a band/album starting with D or X or Z or whatever letter, it ALWAYS returns to A. this is really annoying and its distracting if i simply want to change the album i'm listening to by the same artist.
Secondly, when an album finishes, it just stops, it doesn't go to the next album, it just stops and i have to go all the way back to that artist to get to what would have been the next song/album Can someone help? |
no one else has an issue with this?
|
weirdest thing happened, i hit my head before, and now i have a bump on it.
but really.... does anyone else here use the OEM NAV with an ipod and find this annoying? is there anything else that can be done? |
Most stock nav systems for ipod integration do that. My alpine head unit even does it "I think never really searched with the head unit no need to"
Only other option I can see is get a new head unit if it really bugs you. I just create a playlist and that is what gets played when I am in the car. |
I usually just use Playlists and random. Fine control is just too hard in the car.

oooh responses!
I've kind of noticed that if i go to the artist/album/ song and i don't hit menu to go back, but rather hit the back button, it will take me to the previous menu and i can back out to whatever artist i was at. So if i'm at like Dark Tranquility, i can just back out and go straight to Children of Bodom, without going all the way back to the beginning of the alphabet. I will try the playlist thing though |
Jeff, I guess the one habit that changed when i went iPod 10 years ago was I stopped listening to whole CDs and started doing more random mixes.

Pandora or Slacker FTW!

its kind of annoying that its so hard to just listen to an album. i hate making playlists. Albums are playlists, i sholdn't have to go and then take that album, which is already a list of songs in a certain order, and then make a playlist out of it in order for these devices to work properly.

hey guy
I found two bugs today, when click artist and viewing lets say eminem, it will have his album names but then if i have a single song on another playlist it just says unknown instead of single. I also found out that sometimes you have to go back to the main menu after viewing an album cause when you back out to the screen showing all the artist it won't let me click them. Anyone else with these issues? I'm using a first gen. ipod touch |
Bump!!

i have the same problem... i think its different from the interface u have (if u have more buttons maybe idk)... i used this on my last car (07 murano) and every time i try to change my playlist it would just reset and go back to "A" artist or "A" titles... to counter this problem... i just made bunch of playlist and what ever playlist u wanna listen to... have it playin before u plug or iphone or ipod in (yes, i know thats a hassel)... lol...

For Jeff:
I rarely play an album (but I like the Sororiety Row Soundtrack for driving) so I play it sometimes. First, it's a pain to get to it (iPod Touch). Choose Album, and starts at A. But quickly turning the rotary dial below the screen changes to letters of the alphabet so it's a little bit easier. Also, I go to T and then back up to "Sor...". When the album finishes playing, I think it just sits there. I'll have to see WHERE it sits on mine when it's done. As to play lists, they're very easy. I prefer smart playlists BUT I DO have a couple called, Driving 1, Driving 2, etc that are "dumb playlists. For those, I just scann through the songs (usually in GENRE order) and highlight a bunch I want to drag them over. Driving 1 is all fast hard-hitting music. Anyway, my ideas on play lists. |
