Question for Audio Install Guys:
Hey guys I recently went to my local audio shop to get a quote on all installs I'm going to have done at once.
*Hardwired Passport *12" kenwood sub * Kenwood amp * Kenwood DNX6960 * back up camera * viper alarm/ remote start He quoted me $700 (labor cost)Is this Good, fair, or too much? Thanks |
I've always done all my installs myself, but thats seems like a lot of parts to install.. I dont know what the going rate for installs is, but I would feel comfortable paying that much. I'd say its fair.
How are they installing the Sub? custom box? or like zenclosures or something type deal? |
I worked as an installer for years. I don't feel that that's a bad price. I will point out that if you didn't purchase any of this stuff from them that they are probably charging higher install rates. Are they charging a supply rate on top of that too (ie wiring and fuses and whatnot)?
|
It seemed like quite a bit of work to me, so I thought it was probably fair. I agree that it is probably a tad more because I'm bring in all my own stuff. I'd be crazy to buy from them though, the DNX6960 was priced at 1300$ in their store! When I explained it to him it was with the idea that I was providing wire and all. The box is a zenclosure.

Thats a fair price, especially since you are bringing your own equipment

Great, Thanks for the feedback guys

Hardwired Passport: 30min
*12" kenwood sub: 5-6hrs * Kenwood amp * Kenwood DNX6960 * back up camera * viper alarm/ remote start 1hr about 8hrs total... or $87.50/hr. not bad! |
Thats a 1.5 to 2 day job so your quote isnt bad at all. Go for it!
