alright sooo i ordered one of these and im a lil confused to how it works... i have a pioneer avh4000dvd installed how do i connect the pac swi to it... i guess im a lil freaked out cuz there are so many different color wires on it AND it comes with resistors..... i have never installed one of these in my life so i thought i would be careful i dont wanna fry anything lol any help would do and thank you in advance...

You are going to need 2 resistors and your going to have to tap into 2 wires from the factory harness. I hope this helps you out.

I will warn you it is a lot of work if you have never done one before.

hey big one more question ummm when i program the pac swi and like i disconnect the battery when i do future mods do i have to keep REPROGAMMING the pac swi? so the controls will work or is it a one time deal

cab83_750 03-17-2010 10:53 AM

It is one-time deal.

I have one, but I hate PAC-swi. It does the job, but a lot slower compared to the factory.

I'm going to order the Metra Universal switch. Hopefully it'll be alot more responsive than the PAC.

You mean an Axxess ASWC? I didn't know they still made one under the Metra name.

ahhh crap so there is a lag? damn it :shakes head:

cab83_750 03-17-2010 01:43 PM

Yeah. SWI is so slow.

Plus, in most cases, you really need to push hard. Hate it!

xiven 03-17-2010 01:45 PM

yeah hopefully axxess is quicker.

vipor 03-17-2010 01:53 PM

:iagree:

It'll still be a while until I can find out for myself..

Guess xiven is our guinea pig!
