Hey guys, here are some pictures of my install. Thought some people might find the placement of things worth looking at. I also used a ZEnclosures box which is working out great. Sound quality is amazing. The stuff you can't see are the MB Quart tweeters, Sony Xplode front speakers, and Rockford Fozgate Rear Speakers. The whole setup cost me around $2,300 installed.

I originally had the ipod cable in the upper compartment which I unfortunately had drilled without thinking. This was very impractical and caused major connection issues with my iphone because it wouldn't fit flush and had to rest on the connection itself, re-routing to the glove compartment was very easy to do and it solved the connection issues so think twice before putting the connection in the compartment above the HU.

Very nice setup!

Get rid of the cap and you will be set. caps if needed are just a bandaid on a bigger problem if you do have lights dimming. The best thing to do in the case of lights dimming is do the "big 3" just google it and should find info on it.

I don't really have lights diming, the audio guy just had me install it maybe just to make a few more bucks off me...what's the disadvantage though?

There no real 'disadvantage' to having a capacitor, but what bigaudio is saying is that the capacitor is more of a band aid for voltage drops rather then a solution.

Capacitor:
A capacitor is basically a battery that can dump all of its current pretty much instantly. When your system uses a lot of power the voltage levels can spike below the norm for a few milliseconds or seconds causing the lights to dim every once and while. The capacitor is used in a car as a sort of filter to fill in the Voltage gaps that can be seen with large power draws from your stereo system. Basically when you turn on the car the capacitor is charged to the cars current voltage level. When the stereo pulls alot of power and causes the voltage level to drop the capacitor instantly starts to drain off its stored energy thus restoring the voltage level in the car until the car battery can catch up

Big 3:
The big three goes another route by actually solving the problem of why the voltage drops in the first place.

Some stereo installers will recommend capacitors for the extra cash because its really not needed in most common setup in new cars.
