Getting new headunit....

well so its time to change the crappy headunit that comes in the NISMO. Right now my top choice is a Kenwood Excelon DDX814 like this one Kenwood Excelon DDX814 In-Dash Video - In-Dash Receivers at Onlinecarstereo.com

Any other suggestions. Bluetooth is a most, and GPS is not, since i dont use it now and dont think i will use it if i have it. Im going for SQ in my setup, any speakers suggestions ?

In regards to your bluetooth, do you prefer fully integrated controls, like caller ID display, voice dialing, integrated phonebook, etc? Or do you just need something that you can answer calls with and hear through the speakers?

What price range are you looking for in regards to your components? Do you plan on adding a sub? Planning on adding an amp for both or separate amps?

I would like fully integrated controls. Yes i plan on adding a sub but like i said SQ is the most important thing including the sub. I would like to stay below $2K for components, sub and amps.

Also, does Dynamat really works, this car is very noisy inside, i have heard good things from it, but really want someone who has it on the 370Z to tell how much did it improve the noise.

I love dynamat. I completely dynamatted my 67 Pontiac. It made a huge difference.

I have a pioneer nav head unit with bluetooth that I love.

Is it cheaper or better?

galtamar 03-03-2010 06:46 AM

Vegitto-kun 03-03-2010 07:34 AM

I didn't know you could replace the nav setup that nissan put in it.

galtamar 03-03-2010 02:54 PM

I have a NISMO, so no nav setup... i have the same crappy stereo that comes in a Versa??? WTF

bigaudiofanat 03-03-2010 04:01 PM

Look at it this way, SO MUCH EASIER to upgrade than the bose system.

i find it to be a better product. both are easy to use, peel and stick. but the second skin has no smell period and they claim a better absorbsion. with the price being so close for each one id say go with second skin. also they have great customer service.
