iPhone video trouble with Kenwood DNX5140

I tried searching for this and couldn't find anything specific...

I recently got the Kenwood DNX5140 installed with the iPod/iPhone video adapter ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ef=oss_product ) and I can't get any video!

In the ipod menu I go to the bottom and select "Video" and it actually shows me the list of videos in my itunes library. I play a video and I hear the audio but my screen is just black. The only thing I can think of is that the installers didn't hook it up correctly but I'm doubting this for some reason. I took it to California Car Sounds in LA and the guys seemed like they knew what they were doing and they were aware that I should be able to play videos with the unit. I'm stopping short of taking everything apart myself and checking to see whether or not it's properly connected.

Does anyone have a similar setup with the DNX5140 or 6140 that has gotten video from the iPod/iPhone to work with the head unit?

I have a 6140 and I'm able to get video. I have my ipod hooked up through the dock connector. To play the movies I go to Videos, select the movie and then tap the album art. It sounds like your installers didn't hook up the video input cable. Check out this manual on page 7

hmm...can't get to that link. I even added an "f" at the end I thought you had missed. Says "bad request"

Another question for you...where do you have the ipod cable routed to? I have mine going up into the little storage area above the head-unit and that's causing major issues. My iphone doesn't fit laying down in there so it has to be sideways and the connection keeps getting interrupted or goes into an on-off loop and it drives me crazy. I'm going to re-route it but I want to make sure I don't have this issue again. Where do you have yours going and do you have any connection issues with it?

Yea...I butchered that link...try this one.

I have my ipod/iphone in the glove department in front of the passenger seat. I don't have any connection issues with it there.
