Audio upgrade

Here are a few shots of my rear hatch area [note the embosied 370Z at the top] the flash just doesn't bring it out 2 kicker amps {pre-china manufactured} 12 inch Kicker Comp sub. the base board seperates in half with two wings. Storage space in each rear corner, I'll will be doing the Camero option of a portable air pump with a can of sealer. The head unit is a Alpine 7977 with kenwood EQ, I know they seem a little dated, but this is good equipment out of my last car with the head unit bought years ago for eventual replacement usage. Boston pros in the bug eye position for perfect alignment to the ears.

I tried uploading 5 pictures with the blue pogress bar moving to the end and then nothing, like it uploaded the pics then wouldn't finish saying upload complete or finished, I just needed to show more patience, like walk upstairs and listen to 1 singer on American idol come back and there loaded.

Looks good. I kind of miss having the entire rear area open after getting my Zenclosure box, but it's very rare I actually need the space.

speedfreak28 02-22-2010 04:01 PM

nice, I love old kicker stuff, I loved my zr 1000 with the crossover modules

JB-370z 02-22-2010 04:58 PM

Looks good. Hope we can get more pics. How much for the custom box?

roplusbee 02-22-2010 07:07 PM

I take it the box fills in the Spare Tire area also? Did you Dynomat (or other product) the area inside the hatch?

I looked at the zenclosures and for 134.00 could of had a nice 12inch box, but the drawback was high over the shoulder rear viewing and uncertain amp location. I saw one application with the amps on top of the box, you could put them below, but no ventilation, and the 2 rear corners have styrofoam utilities. My constructor wanted me to use 3 8inch subs up by the brace bar or 2 10inch subs in the rear. I already had the 12inch, didn't need the dynomat, no rattling or vibrations, very sound construction and cables.
Good amp ventilation. It sounds great, but I would like to compair it with some other Z systems, maybe at Nashville this summer. It cost me 1,000

Shoot, I need to get with you about getting in contact with your builder. I like the way your setup is nice, flush, and out of the way.

Yea, I ordered my first one in 97/98 a 7940 which still runs but recently retired, the 79 series have no internal amp to generate more unecessary heat. Did you know that it has 6 BBE settings on it compaired to the 7977 which just has 3. I will post a picture of my other system soon.

The 370Z has a spare tire area?

only thing I see in there is the BOSE subwoofer and some products to fix holes in the wheels

unless the base version just has a wheel in there

1slow370 02-25-2010 04:24 AM

the sport actually has a forged enkie wheel for a spare about a 19x4 wheel powdercoated black. Thought that the touring had a tire under the bose sub that you unscrewed the sub disconnected the wire and pulled the spare out from under it.

Vegitto-kun 02-25-2010 05:51 AM

Garage told me that there is no spare tire since the sub takes up the spot and since it has tire repairment products

1slowz is right about the sport version, I didn't think to consider what expceptions the Bose optioned cars had, I do know that it would of been more work with the Bose removeal, or with touring/navigation option. Remember the saying "No Highs, No Lows, it must be Bose":icon17:
