Tesla Screen hissing noise

Hey,

I got a tesla screen for my 2019 Nismo from Nifty City.

The screen is working pretty well but im getting a hissing noise coming from the speakers, it turns off when volume is on zero, and does not increase with rpm or music volume, so it's only noticeable at low volume.

The screen comes with an "audio decoder box" which places in between car harness and screen harness, this things removes the hissing noise but aswell a lot of the volume of the bose system (which I was happy with).

Any idea on from where this hissing noise can be coming from? I grounded the screen to the center point behind head unit. Also tesla screen have an option to "bypass factory amp", which is giving me better sound volume, but not as good as prior to install. (And I dont know how it bypass the AMP, since speakers are wired to bose amp, right?).

At this moment Im waiting for a response from nifty city, to see if they know specs of outputs from the screen to bose AMP, to start with.

Any ideas to get rid of the noise without using that box and lose like 40% of the volume?

There is a FB group for the Nifty City/AuCar Tesla screen that could probably help you out. While I am NOT a fan of FB groups when it comes to cars and what not - this one seems to try to 'sort out' issues quickly (since most of the people on the group have had a lot of the same issues and stuff). For everything else related to my Z - love this forum haha.

Thank you so much, will check that out until I find a solution.

Please keep this thread updated as I don’t have Facebook. I have a similar hissing sound but I didn’t use the box. I’ve tried two of those boxes and for me there is some type of issue with the connector. My audio cuts in and out when I use that box. I can grab the connector and when I move it. It cuts out. It’s definitely something with their connector, crimps, pins or something. They blame it on my factory harness but when I bypass that box it works fine other than hissing/static. As I turn up the volume the music mostly drowns it out, but I’d like to get it 100%.

I saw your response on the other thread. As soon as I get the order with the metras I will wire everything and post the result.

Which year is your car, also NAV/non NAV?

I have a 2013 Sport Touring. It did not have the nav system but did have the Bose stereo system.

Finally solved it by using a custom harness made by myself, more details on this thread:
