Amp wiring & subwoofer questions
Blew the 80a fuse on the power wire O'Reilley's only had 60a fuses so it'll have to do for now. After doing some extra research I'm worried that I didn't get a good enough amp wiring kit. It's knukonceptz 4g wire but it's 90% aluminum 10% copper, 80a inline fuse and my amp has 3 40amp fuses on the back of it.
The way I had it setup was the 2 soundqubed subwoofers rated at 600watts rms each I believe they should be getting 1200watts RMS at 1ohm from Polk audio d1000.1 So I think I should have gotten the knukonceptz 4g kolossus wiring kit and I don't want to go back through with rewiring T-T Also there's definitely something wrong with the subwoofer that was rattling/buzzing. When I press down on both cones the one making the noise has a little bit of resistance. Did this happen because subwoofers were new and wired and screwed into the enclosure and left unused for 2 year? Do I rewire it with kolossus 100% copper wire w/ 120amp anl fuse? Or should I use anl fuse holder with 100amp or 120amp fuse on my current power wire? |
What the wire is made of is not important. All the electrons care about is the resistance of the wire - the lower, the better.
