Just something I thought of, does anyone know if any systems have speed variable volume? (You know, the faster and more rpms you push, you music gets progressively louder. I had this in an older car, and it comes standard in the new 2010 oem navi.) Would be nice feature to have also.

Reaper, that would be a great idea! Adaptive audio for aftermarket head units! I know the Infiniti G convertible has it and it would be a great idea for the Z, especially the Z Roadster!! |

Thanks sig. I’m using the Genius mixes right now and love it! The new Avic takes this idea a little further by having an animated 3D sphere interface. My playlist can be accessed from a section of the sphere which can be rotated up, down, left and right with a slight touch of the screen. I think it will be a quicker and easier method of selecting my generated playlists. I saw it on you tube and it looks fantastic! I did want to add one comment about Amazon. When you buy something from Amazon that is sold by Amazon, you never have any problems with returns for whatever reason. No hassles or restocking fees. They will even send you a free return shipping label. I love that kind of reassurance when buying anything! |
yes it goes for pioneer as well. i buy most of my stuff from www.sonicelectronix.com but www.woofersetc.com has good stuff too and www.crutchfield.com is the old workhorse of car audio. i've had good buying experiences with all of those, crutchfield especially have excellent customer service but they are practically retail prices that you could get at a "big box store", they include instructions and everything needed to hook it up (dash kit and wiring harness adapters) tho which is nice.
|
yeah. Crutchfield is amazing. I think they have the best customer service of any mail order place I've ever used. I just wish they had internet level pricing. :)

I agree Crutchfield is a great retailer with experience and knowledge. I have bought from them over the years and always had great customer service. In fact, they are the first one who pointed me towards Pioneer and Kenwood double din head units because quote “both are of great quality and are in the Crutchfield Signature Series”. |
Has anyone done an audio install in a Roadster? I’m concerned about getting an easy path to the trunk area! I haven’t seen any 2010 370Z Roadster Service Manuals listed in this forum.
|
I want to do an install in a roadster just have not. I have not had the chance to get in one yet but I think if you pull the seat forward and remove the panels you will find a way.

What I’m looking for is access to the 370Z Roadster Service Manual. I know I can research the ZR after delivery (remove, research & connect), but I’m the type of enthusiast who likes to research the service manual in advance. Maybe I’m a little old fashioned, but I enjoy installing everything mentally before I remove the first nut! |

btw, your local bestbuy is pretty good too. they'll price match and they usually have the harnesses and remote adapters in the back if you get one of the techgeeks or watever they're called to help. that's wat i did last time. |
I agree they are a bit expensive so I use woofersetc.com
|
I switched to Amazon.com and recommend checking their prices before you buy from anyone else.
|
5 to 6 weeks left before my factory ordered 370ZR arrives! I’m leaning towards buying the new Pioneer double din head unit. So many good reviews and actual owner’s firsthand experiences convinced me it’s a good head unit. Has anyone installed the new Avic Z or X series?
|
as i stated before, pioneer makes a solid HU, you should be in good hands. having said that, i don't have any experience with the new products but i can only imagine the interface is even more refined

Thanks HKY….I did my research and found Pioneer really is a solid innovated head unit. Independent professional reviewers and installers have endorsed Pioneer’s features, quality and reliability. It appears the only negative comments about Pioneer’s reliability are isolated. How could one person have so many problems? It’s statistically impossible and proves to be a personal issue with the name brand! Has anyone else taken Statistics 101?? |
yea exactly, there will always be people that bitch for the sake of bitching about something. that's life. enjoy the new HU and be sure to post pics once it's installed and up and running!

I believe this is more than just bitching about something! Apparently, someone has a personal vendetta against Pioneer! When asked to list specific problems, answers are vague and childish. Certainly not the sharpest boy in the trailer park! Anyway…looking forward to getting my ZR and most likely will be installing a Pioneer HU unless Kenwood shows up to the party with something new! It’s really between Kenwood & Pioneer, they are the best head units on the market right now! |
In case anyone is interested I have 2 DEMO DNX9140 available at $999.95 Shipped. Full 2 year warranty. These units were in my Tundra and my business partners Tundra.

As a Side note DNX9140 in my opinion is a better unit then the pioneer, however Pioneer at the price it is selling at is a good deal. Personaly I like the sound quality of the kenwood much better. However that is my opinion. I am sure if you look hard enough you can always find a better deal. But there is more to it then just a better deal.. Warranty, Service, people you are dealing with, Forum sponsors to be considered as they are paying to be on this forum (guilt trip always works... Just kidding) |
^^ The debate between Kenwood vs. Pioneer is good for both companies. They are, right now, the best double dins unit on the US market. Competing against each other will only make both better! When it’s time to select one over the other, I agree with you, it’s a function of personal opinion! On a different note…..I enjoy beautiful New Hampshire…. love the “state liquor” stores…..save tons of money around the holidays!

^^ sounds good...

Got to give Pioneer some kudos…big recession going on and they give something back to the consumers! |
so have you decided what double din your going with?
|
get the pioneer and never look back, If you dont mind last years models you can steal the x910bt for about 550 new

I am looking at the Avic series and very impressed with the features. As for being last year model, I could upgrade the operating system & maps. My selection will be decided by features & cost…. Money saved = money for ZR performance upgrades! |
BTW, If anyone is intersted... Only if you are interested...
We are running a special on the New DNX9960. You pay $1899.95 with a pre-order...
