Questions about 09 Navigation

So I have a 09 with the stock navigation system and bluetooth. Now when these came out it wasn't what bluetooth is today where you can stream your apps to your car, on the 09 its strictly for phone calls. I just called the dealership and asked if I was able to purchase a whole newer system and replace the 09 so I can have an up to date system. They said they didn't know if it was possible. Does anybody know for sure if this works or not? I know they have a couple kits out there where I can replace my unit and have to swap out for ac controls but I really like to maintain the stock look. Any and all help is appreciated.

I have all the components you need to convert to a non-nav set up. You just need to provide the double din. There's a write up on how to convert somewhere on the forums.

Might be able to find something using search. If you don't like the site's search feature, go to any of the big web search engines and add "site:the370z.com" to your search string. Eg, "nav upgrade site:the370z.com".

Coolstream.. It uses the 30 pin ipod connector and your phone connects via bluetooth.

If you have an iphone it works just like having an ipod connected all controls work like normal and you get metadata displayed for the most part. Sometimes the track data wont update but it works with most music apps on your phone. If you have android it works the same too minus the track info. Instead you get 123 displayed but its by far the cheapest and it sounds decent for bluetooth. 100% better than what sources sound like through the rca jacks.
