3D Design for a Galaxy Tab S5e

Hi guys!

I just want to let you know that I've designed a frame to mount a Galaxy Tab S5e in our cars! You can freely download it and print it yourself here.

The idea is to have a slide-in solution, where you can have easy access to all the internal components when needed. This is at least useful to me, as I'm still tweaking the internal electronics. This design also allows the print to be done in two parts (much like the OEM design), thus enabling small form factor 3d printers to print this. I've used Petg for my preliminary prints and have found it to withstand very well the hot weather in the Canary Islands during summer. Hotter climates may require ABS or PC.

I'm giving this design for free for non-commercial use. You are of course encouraged to print it yourself and even modify it to fit other tablet models. I hope you like it!

One day I’ll get into one of these replacement projects. Thanks for creating this and sharing it.

Attached are some pictures of the first print. This is still in the early prototypes. For the tablet, I'm using Cardroid and Carduino to connect to my AC controls and drive them using the tablet. I also have multiple USB accesories (Video input for the rear camera, sound card with balanced output, Carplay dongle...).

Very cool setup! Can you explain more how the carduino/cardroid works?

If possible can you provide me your cardroid apk. I have tried for hours trying to compile it to no success.

P.S Nevermind, I was able to get it working right away on another computer.. Not sure why my work laptop had issues compiling it.
