Factory nav in non-touring models

Is the factory nav only available in the touring model? I can't buy a base with sport with the fac nav as an option?

Yes factory NAV is only available in the touring, theres no way you can get it in a base.

Nissan sticks to packages and doesn't waver. You could probably purchase all of the parts at a massive price and make em work..... It'd be better to get a Pioneer/Kenwood for about $700+ and have a better stereo overall.

I think I actually agree with Vipor... :stirthepot:

Damn thats sucks...i just really like the placement of the faxtory nav. Does any aftermarket company make one for that space? Man, i might have to get touring/sport now...i was really hoping to bring the cost of my purchase down. Well at least if i do decide to go touring/sprt ill have that beautiful perssimon interior.

The double DIN space in the base+sports is perfect for many many aftermarket nav. Kenwood DNX series fits without any kits what so ever.

I see...i just really like how the factory nav sits up high. With the doubledin you gotta look down.

:iagree: Agreed. But I'm willing to look down if I'm saving $5000 - $6000 ;)

Well they do talk to you so actually you rarely ever have to look down. And I would prefer a aftermarket rather than the stock with the bose system.

If your aftermarket has a video out or dual zone feature, you may be able to do a custom screen in the cubby area and possibly run the NAV display on that screen. I have not tried this. It is just speculation. Perhaps someone who has a custom setup can chime in.

I plan on doing something like that, but I want a screen in the cubby area for engine monitoring / gauge purposes. But I have to work on securing a Z first, lol.

bigaudiofanat 12-30-2009 04:38 PM

The video output is only for video not nav or anything such as that. Unless there is a mirror function to show what is on one screen on the other.
