What's a good 5/3 channel amp?

I'm looking for a 5/3 channel amp that will do at least 300 watts to the sub and 100 watts × 2 full range. The alpine pdx v-9 for $430 would be my absolute highest price I would go. The kenwood xr-900-5 is available refurbed for $279 and the Kenwood KAC-M8005 is $200 on Amazon. Amp will be powering db6501 and a shallow-mount pioneer. I'm pretty much only gonna replace these items with high quality stuff when they break. I'm looking for good SQ that will be plenty loud in the car and not break the bank (if possible).

Do you guys have any suggestions?

Appreciate it bro. I'm about to order it.

Do you think it will be fine underneath or behind the drivers seat? Mostly concerned about it overheating.

19.8" long.....maybe better under foam piece

mine are completely covered, very limited airflow, no issues at all.

In bridged does it put out 300 watts to a 4ohm subwoofer?

Thanks for pointing that out I was only checking the height! It has to go behind the seat namely cause its wired for such and its just an easy location to access.

Their website says 17inches

Luckily there's like 20 inches to work with back there and at 6 inches tall I wont lost much of the recline

How does an amp put out 200 in 4ohm sub unbridged but when bridged put out 300 to a 4ohm sub? I know a bit about circuits so if you could explain or point me to a good resource itd be apreciated.

Saw this on an Amazon review:

According to Zapco the published specs on the ST-5XII are incorrect and the amp does 100 x 4 + 200 x 1 into 4 ohms, 150 x 4 + 300 x 1 into 2 ohms, or 300 x 2 into 4 ohms + 300 x 1 into 2 ohms.

Power @ 4Ω: 4 x 100 watts Plus 1 x 200 watts

THD @ Rated Power < 0.5%THD

Power @ 2Ω: 4 x 150 watts Plus 1 x 300 watts

Power Bridged @ 4Ω: 2 x 300 watts RMS Plus 1 x 300 watts

From Zapcos website. I'm not knowledgeable in electrical circuitry, but I'm assuming it has something to do with the power supply rail being regulated.
JL has a few amps out that run the same wattage regardless of impedance load. I'm guessing this is somewhat the same technology..

I've been in love with both the Alpine line and Jl's line of 3 and 5 channel amps. IMO alpine is more bang for your buck. I use to sell zapco's line and they make good stuff, just don't like their setup as much as alpine or JL

The alpine is the only one with a subsonic filter. The kenwood 5 channels, zapco STX II, Jl 3 channel all don't have one .

Are you looking for a subsonic filter as a must have?

If I'm buying an expensive amp I wanna make sure it's flexible enough for any future mods so yeah.
