370Z subwoofer into G35

Hello all, I recently bought a 370Z 18" spare tire and subwoofer for my G35. I needed the 18" wheel to clear my brakes.

I've got an aftermarket HU and all, was curious to the actual size of the woofer in the enclosure? I'm looking to do some pre-emptive shopping. When it arrives I plan of gutting it, and installing an aftermarket driver, and then repurposing the plug (if possible) to supply either 12V and signal, or or subwoofer line voltage.

I don't have high expectations, just wanted something more. I've already upgraded the other speakers and this is just a weekend car.

my luck it's an absolute one off size like a 3"x8" or something else similarly retarded. it seems that Nissan has a sick sense of humor.

thank you for your time.

I'm pretty sure its a 6 1/2" sub

Isn't the Bose sub two 4" woofers inside the plastic housing?

that makes complete sense in some Nissan's engineer's mind. I've seen 4" woofers way way back in the day, i think Fosgate used to make some.

I'll crack it open when i get a chance.

found a little info

DIY - Increasing / Improving the output of the OEM Bose Murano Subwoofer - Nissan Murano Forum

depending on depth i might be able to stuff a decent sub in there
