Need Help Wierd Issue

Lately when I turn on my car my car stereo will not play any music. If I put the car in ACC mode it will play with no issue, radio and bluetooth. After driving for about 15 minutes the stereo will then play music. I purchased a pioneer touch screen head unit 2.5 years ago from best buy and went there last week. They said everything is plugged in perfectly and nothing looks out of the ordinary. They gave the unit a reset and that did not fix the issue. I have an extended warranty with Nissan, but I know 100% the dealership will blame it on the stereo. What could cause an issue like this? I was thinking maybe the extreme cold our there but why would it work in ACC mode? Any suggestions, I dont feel like dealing with a bunch of ******** at the dealership. That's my last resort

My guess is its a head unit issue. Remove it, and check voltage at wiring harness in ACC and in Run. If both are good, its your unit. Is this a repeatable, ongoing issue??

The issue started last week. I know the tech at Best Buy and he said it makes no sense since it works perfectly in ACC mode. He checked the harness and everything else, said everything looks good. Why would an head unit only work instantly in ACC mode and take a while to work once the car is turned on fully. Its very baffling. I went on vacation for 5 days came back yesterday and it went right on. I started it today and it took 10 minutes, but in ACC mode it worked off the bat

by "checking the harness and saying it looks good" does that mean he eyeballed it, or did he put his DMM on the wires? My money is on a head unit issue, or a loose connection somewhere. Only 2 things that make sense to me.

Sounds like it could be a lose wire in the dash or even a can bus issue with sending voltage. Do you have anything tied off your power wires for your head unit? You're about 2 hours from me if you need some help looking it over.

If hu works in acc then I would suggest harness. Possibly loose connection if crimp terminals were used or loose, damaged or oxidized pin in aftermarket harness. It's obviously a power supply issue in run mode that changes resistance values as car warms up. IMO the wiring should be investigated more closely

did we discover a fix for this yet?
