Kenwood DDX24BT help

Well I broke down and installed the Kenwood DDX24BT and for the most part am satisfied with the exception that I lost my steering wheel controls. The original radio was a stock non Bose head unit from my 2017 Base coupe. Does anyone know what unit I need to buy that will work with this radio? I have searched all over the forum and for the most part found a lot of great info regarding this install but it left me confused. Please help if you can! Thanks!

You need a universal steering controls adapter. The most popular on here is the Axxess ASWC-1. There are threads and videos in this subforum that will help you set it up.

Do not bother with the PAC branded units..they are flakey and much more difficult to get wired in and setup.

Thanks so much for the fast reply! I'll be going over to an installer after work just to see if he stocks them. Again really appreciate the help!

No problem. You can also pick one up at Best Buy. The price there is a rip-off, but they will pricematch Amazon as long as it 'ships and sold by Amazon'... That is what I did during my headunit install.

I definitely recommend the Axxess ASWC. I used the "other" one. PAC something. Can't remember because it's been 7 years since I did it, but the Axxess worked much better for me. Never had a problem with it.
