Factory USB Port (on 2015+?)
 

does anyone know if its possible to wire the factory usb port that is in the center console on my 2017 into an aftermarket head unit's usb jack.

my 2013 didn't have this port available and i had to install one previously but i'm wondering if anyonoe has any experience on a 2015 perhaps and can give some insight into whats on the other side of the jack's panel

Yes you can, unless they changed it from 2016, you'll need a female mini USB to female USB IIRC, take a look at the USB cable pulled from the stock to confirm.

Not sure if you've figured this out yet but I purchased a male usb to female mini usb and installed it from my head unit to the male mini usb cable end that feeds the usb jack inside the center console. I've got a 2017 with a Bose system. Works great! Here's a picture of it, I purchased mine from Amazon for less than $5.00.
