Backlight for Climate/Radio won't work

Hey Everyone,

All the backlighting for buttons in the interior doesn't work.
What should i look out for?
Anyone had this issue before, I looked it up without success and my car is out of warranty.

Have you done any stereo installation lately?
Just wondering if you forgot to plug everything back in.

Have you checked the fuse box?

SouthArk370Z 03-10-2017 10:18 PM

First thing I'd check is fuses (as per Jayhovah). If fuses are good, I'd next check wiring/connectors (as per TreeSemdyZee). Fuse locations are in the Users Manual and FSM; wiring diagrams are in FSM.

No stereo modifications i'll get the fuse box checked.

Update:
It turned out that my driver side tail light wasn't working and the fog light as well. Changed the Tail/imilli 10A fuse in the hidden fuse box next to the battery and it fixed the problem. I'll wait for few days and see if it goes again then i'll look for the problem causing the fuse to blow.

Update:
Blown fuse again. Where should i look? I have EVO-R Fog light and i think it draws the power from the parking tail light. Could it be an issue with the wiring for it? If i tried changing the fuse and not using the fog light and see if that fixes the problem. Will that help me narrow down the issue to specific EVO-R wiring ?

I had a quick look underneath the fog light and i found the fog light wire was melted on the exhaust :shakes head:
I think that could be the issue causing the fuse to blow since it does get power from the parking tail light. I'll cut the wire, reconnect, crimp it and heat shrink. I would cover it with a few rolls of ducktape and i'll have my fingers crossed that it will fix that annoying electrical issue.

Problem solved wired it again and changed the fuse and the same issue didn't happen again. I held the wiring harness by ziptie just to make sure.
