Speakers, sub, amp ohm question

Quick question for the audio heads out there. I am looking at an amp it's a 5 channel amp that can be bridged for the front speakers and can be ran for a single sub as well. Here's my question can I run my speakers at 4ohm up front and the single sub at 2ohm, or does the entire system have to be ran at 4? Thanks for the help

Specs should be on the amp itself. As far as I know, 5 channel amps have the 5th channel as dedicated sub channel. The Manuel should say what ohm the channel run at and at how many watts. Bridging or running parallel will give different ohm (like use 1 + terminal from on channel and 1 -from another to run a speaker vs combining 2 +wires together and 2-wires together to power a speaker).

The amp I am looking on the subwoofer channel is as follows; 2 ohm 300watts 3ohm 240 watts and 4 ohm at 180 watts, and for the main channels it says 2 bridged at 4ohm for 200watts, thank for the response

Well there is your answer. The amp probably has a switch for the sub channel to control what ohm it will run at. The 4 main channel might have a switch that will control all 4 channels. There should be a simple diagram showing what you have to do to run whatever watt/ohm you want.

Thanks figured I would ask before I bought to make sure

There is no switch, the amp "sees" whatever ohm load you connect to it all on its own.
That all said, you are safe to run subs in 2 ohm, and bridge fronts to 4 ohms.

I was looking at the jl c5-650 component speakers the Rms is 75 each with max at 225, would brdging at 200 be to much for these speakers to handle?

Good deal Ron. 3 channel^5 channel amps are definitely not my thing. I only run dedicated amps. Good brain food.
